The Saturday before Mardi Gras,
Eunice was alive with music. Fred Charlie organized a jam session in downtown Eunice
Saturday afternoon. The Liberty Theatre was
packed almost beyond capacity for the 6 p.m. show featuring Steve Riley and the Mamou
Playboys. During a break in the performance, Georgie Manuel gave a presentation on Mardi
Gras customs.
As usual, the Liberty also had a 2 p.m. show the Saturday
before Mardi Gras, this year featuring La Bande Feufollet (see pictures of them in
Mamou Monday night). |
